COMING FULL CIRCLE.

Pete working with Martin Luther King, 1965. In retrospect, a bit full of himself, as he is in 2020.

The today the Buck Law Group rarely if ever takes assignments for fees. It does pro bono for individuals and organizations dealing with injustice or oppression.

Pete grew up in a family that valued justice, his father being involved with the ACLU in the early 50’s. At 19 Pete joined the Civil Rights movement in the Deep South with an MLK organizing effort.

Throughout his law practice a specialty has been standing up to bullies. He still loves a good fight.

Pete has had a generalized civil practice since graduating from the University of Washington Law School (Order of Coif) in 1973. He has done well at litgation. He has practiced in 25+ states, finding great firms with which to associate. Pete has achieved all the honors: “Super Lawyer,” “Best Lawyer,” “Top Lawyer,” “Chambers Top Tier,” etc.

In moving forward Pete is fortunate to have a background of successfully handling  numerous administrative hearings, trials and appellate court appeals in a wide variety of substantive areas.

Pete’s reputation is based on the consistent success he brings to his clients. He is knowledgeable, creative, persistent and, when necessary, aggressive.  Most importantly he walks the talk of being client-focused.

He respects and works within a client’s budget. This is particularly easy now, with pro-bono work, since he has unlimited budgets. And, of course, he has plenty of  time to tilt at what other might call “windmills,” but which he finds are  mostly meritorious, winnable cases.

Pete’s string of victories in the Counts of Appeal and Supreme Court  appellate speaks to his persistence. Once in,  he is all in.
